Seeing and not thinking

Whether I am painting or not, I spend a good amount of time looking for subject matter that may translate well into paint. Its folly to attempt to record a world in flux; but the challenge of open-air painting compels me to capture that evasive effect. The process is as valuable as the end result – concentrated work that heightens the present with a sense of urgency. To see the world in the unique way of an artist is in itself endlessly entertaining; and engaging with it in paint, even more so.
